Short-term Earthquake Prediction Based on Seismic Precursory Electric  Signals Recorded on Ground Surface.

ATHENS REGIONAL AREA SEISMICITY OF THE LAST 15 DAYS

The purpose of this page is to demonstrate that EQs do not occur randomly in space, as it is believed by the majority of the seismologists,  but occur over specific well-defined deep large fracture zones in the crust, located very easily by gravimetry.

Although the latter has been validated for the large EQs (see related page of this web-site), it is still valid, to some extent, even for the small magnitude EQs (down to 3R).

In the following graphs data are presented as follows:

    a. Tidal gravity variation, for the last 15 days, along with the corresponding seismicity.

    b. Athens regional area map for a radius of 170 Km from the station (ATH), overlaid by :

        1. the deep fracture zones of the crust.

        2. the corresponding seismicity for the last 15 days, as it has been detected and

            calculated from the NOA.

        3. seismic potential  (threshold level : Ms = 6R) calculated for the year 2010
